Seed funding from ABB and Chalmers Ventures

Eneryield has closed a seed round with ABB — investing through ABB Electrification’s Distribution Solutions division — and Chalmers Ventures, our first investor and partner since 2019.

The investment follows several successful pilot projects in which IntelliView® predicted faults from existing protection-relay data.

“With support from strategic investors like ABB and Chalmers Ventures, we are ready to take our solution to market,” says Ebrahim Balouji, CEO and co-founder of Eneryield.

“The portfolio synergies between ABB and Eneryield will help create one of the most advanced prediction systems for power networks,” says Sami Raitakoski, Global Product Group Manager Grid Components at ABB.

“Eneryield is a great example of how deep tech solutions can successfully spin out from research,” adds Björn Westman, Investment Director at Chalmers Ventures.

What it means for utilities: a strategic investment from one of the world’s leading grid-technology companies is more than capital — it is validation that AI fault prediction on existing relay data works, and it anchors a delivery route through ABB’s substation digitalization portfolio. For grid operators evaluating predictive fault analytics, it means the technology arrives with an industrial counterparty behind it.
